Storytime Phenomenon!

Mallory and I took Jacob, Audrey and Lila to the library for storytime this morning... Wow is about all I can say! We got there early because tickets are first come first served. I am glad we did! About ten minutes before the library opened there were moms and babies everywhere! Literally a long line waiting for the library to open! Soon the line started moving, perfect timing for Mal who was getting her exercise chasing Jacob up and down the stairs! We finally got our tickets and joined the circle on the floor... well some of us... Jacob had other plans. Storytime was full of songs, learning new sign language, and reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? in unision. Lila wasn't too sure what to think of the whole thing.. she kept turning around to hug my neck... either to thank me for bringing her or to make sure I was still there and not going to leave her... I really think it was the latter! Looking back now, I think it was a lot of fun although at the time I couldn't help but think how interesting it all was.. some of those moms really got into it! We'll have to go again and see if Lila warms up to it.

It sure was fun to hang out with our friends... Jacob kept me laughing all morning! Mal really needs to blog - Jacob's obsession with doors and elevator buttons is just too funny! I'm sure her stories would keep us all laughing! Let me know if any of you want to join us for our next storytime adventure.. apparently is all the rave.. One lady we spoke to said the very first time they had storytime 500 people showed up to participate... WOW!!!

Daddy's Girl!

Lila's first word was "Mama" but don't be fooled... she is a Daddy's Girl! It's funny how she seems to know around what time "Dada" should be getting home and as soon as that door opens she is off to find him! Wayne is such a good Daddy too... he leaves the house before 6 each morning, puts in a long day at the office, sits in traffic on his way home just to walk in the door to his baby girl waiting for him to play... and play they do! I absolutely love to hear the sound of their laughter bellowing through the house from the playroom! Lila loves to be outside..I don't really care to walk around the backyard for hours at a time.. but Daddy doesn't seem to mind! They spend time swinging, playing in the sand, and Wayne has recently attempted to teach her how to kick a ball... we need a lot more practice! Lila has now officially taken my place cheering on the UGA Dawgs, Cowboys, and Mavericks... which is really working out for me!! :0) We love Daddy and all the fun we have playing with him!! Thanks Dada for being the best!!

Happy Halloween!

I was worried about the whole costume thing for Halloween this year since Lila DOES NOT like anything on her head... no bows, no hats, nada. So when I found this zebra costume I held my breath hoping she would just let me try the hat on her head... when she didn't immediately reach up and grab it, I tied it. When I took her to a mirror she LOVED it... she just stood there and laughed and laughed! So I learned that Halloween costumes aren't so bad after all... maybe we'll get the bows back out and give them another try! It's wishful thinking...

We'll be trick or treating for the first time tonight. We are going to a few neighbors and then off to trunk or treat at church where I know the candy is safe. Does anyone else worry about unsafe candy? Becoming a mother sure has put the fear of all things in me! I seem to question the safety of everything these days... Wayne would laugh at that statement since just today Lila fell off the couch and has a nice shiner to prove it! We were playing and she got a little too excited... this isn't the first time and certainly won't be the last... (remember at two weeks my little five pound preemie somehow rolled between our wrought iron headboard and the wall). Everytime something like that happens I get hysterical, pick up the phone to call 911 and then realize she's fine... I cry longer than she does! What can I say... I'm a mess! Anyway... back to Halloween... We're wishing you lots of treats and no tricks this Halloween!! Have fun and be safe!!

Hello Blogging World!

Okay, so Sarah convinced me... Here is my first blog. I am a little unsure of this whole thing but love keeping up with friends through their blogs, so I guess it is time for me to give back. You shouldn't have high expectations for my entries... there will probably be many misspellings, poor punctuation, and bad grammar... I will try to post pictures and let you know of all the funny things Lila does... she sure keeps us laughing! Now a friendly nudge to laura, mal, kristen, krissi, sherry, and heather... time to join us in the blogging world!

I really don't have much to say today except that I am so happy it is FRIDAY!!! Lila is cutting teeth right now and not sleeping well. It is the weekend so it's Daddy's turn to get up with her!! The past few nights we've been up every few hours.... Good luck Wayne! Maybe I will get a good nights rest and learn how to post pictures and make my blogspot "shnazie" (is that my first misspelling?) Check back later...
