A Day in the Life...

*Warning* This post is a doozie!!
Here's a day in the life of Lila and Emily.
It started with playing outside. Lila is still in her jammies in case you were wondering...

Then we met up with our friends for lunch and a movie at Studio Movie Grill. Kung Fu Panda was funny.. taking five kids all three and under, not so funny...

Here is Cindy and Jill with all the kids... no one is really looking in either picture.

Emily's cat nap on the ride home...

While I was getting Emily's bottle (yes, still takes a bottle for naps, but don't worry we brush those teeth) Lila announced that she could do it. Both girls disappeared and here is how I found them... I guess Strawberry Bubble bath might taste better than Soy Milk??

Emily went down for a nap...

And the real fun begins...
We did an art project, okay stickers, but it's art to me...

Read books... (Quiet time)

Played 'Little Mommy'...

Lila is such a good little mommy to her triplets!

Jumped on the trampoline...

Played Mommy again...

She is even teaching them their ABC's..

More art, coloring this time...

More Mommy...

Then we had to play 'Baby'...

I thought she might actually take a nap...

But she was just joking...

On to puzzles...

Daddy's now home and Emily is up...

Dinner...

More Fun Outside...

Lila and Daddy had to do a little work with the hammer..

More Trampoline Fun..

Ha! The ONLY reason I am embarrassing myself here is because I think my girls will laugh with me some day on this one...

Trip to Sonic for slushies...

Bath...
Hopefully Emily will get her cast off tomorrow and we can go back to bathing in the big tub!

Dance Party...
With Honey Pie, Lila's stick horse that goes with us everywhere and waits for us in the car... seriously, church, movies, Target, he is guarding the car and waiting for us... sweet pony!

Bedtime Stories...
That would be a secret, sacred Allen moment... : )really I couldn't get in there for a picture or it encourage her to want to get up and out, etc. etc.
Now they are both down and out now! Yea!! And we get to start all over tomorrow at the Orthopedic Surgeon's office... stay tuned!
All in a day! Wow! I'm exhausted! So, what did you do today?
Thanks for bearing with me on this one. I've wanted to post about one whole day before but have never taken the time to do it.. Now I have!

Houdini

We've already established Lila's climbing ability. Now let me share with you her magic act... disappearing body!

How she'd do that? The master reveals her secret stunt...

Our new trick.. take out the kitchen sink and climb on down...

We've Got A Climber...

Lately I have caught Lila in some big No-No Moments.. so what do I do? Like a good mommy I grab the camera! Okay not parenting at it's best but this girl is fearless so I had to get some pictures to prove it to her later when she hopefully finds a little fear... not too much, just a little!

On her play kitchen...

On Emily's changing table..

And the kitchen table...

And on my desk...

And yes, 'Emily the Cautious' is the one with the broken leg bones! How does that happen.. oh yeah, by being bounced off the bed by the fearless one! : )

Snow??

When you hear, "Come on, let's go make a snow man!" You get a little curious...

This poor bunny lost all his stuffing, but the snow was fun! Now I've got to stuff him and stitch him before it snows again! This Easter bunny has been more fun than Aunt Shannon and Uncle Buck realized when they picked him out at the store! I guess an active imagination helps to beat the Texas heat!

Cookin'

I heard a weird sound coming from Lila's room. I walked in to find the girls cookin'. There was play food all over the floor and Lila had her blender going full speed. When she heard the camera behind her, she turned around and said, "Oh Good Mommy, I need some water please." Ummm.. NO!

Cheerio Breakfast

Emily gets up with the sun so we always have a little time together in the mornings before Lila wakes up. She was cracking me up this morning with her cheerios so I had to grab the camera... she wasn't so sure she wanted her picture taken that early but I got a few good ones...

Six

Six years ago on Sunday I married my best friend. We planted this tree during our wedding reception, in my parent's backyard, where we were married. I'm sure just like our marriage, it has faced some hard days and weathered a few storms. It's roots are strong though, and each year it grows taller and stronger, a beautiful example of God's handiwork, again just like our marriage. I check in on our tree each time I go home and love to see the growth that each new year brings and the reminder of that special day when we began our journey together. Happy Six Years Wayne! Thanks for loving me and having roots deep enough and strong enough to keep us growing and stretching and reaching toward Heaven. I love you!

Things I Love...

1. How excited my girls are to see each other first thing in the morning.
2. Emily's little birthmark on her right knee.
3. The way Lila tells me "It's Okay Mommy." every time I tell her to stop doing something. (I admit there are times I don't 'love' hearing that response, but it helps me stop and see the big picture..usually it really is okay!)
4. Emily's "tuck" as she cozies herself before falling asleep... arms curled in under her belly, legs tucked in and bottom up! She also does a little shimmy to get extra cozy right before closing those big blue eyes.
3. The fact that Lila always talks about herself in third person and carries on conversations with her dolls, stuffed animals, etc. asking them questions and answering for them.. it's so sweet!
2. Emily's laugh... a deep ha ha ha!
1. Not having to miss a single moment of my girls and this special time in their little lives. Each day is a gift. An amazing, perfect gift.
